Fueron largas horas de lucha las que se vivieron en Iquique. Dos días de larga competencia y una final que terminó pasadas las 5:00 AM. Los mejores jugadores del país asistieron a la cita.

Mayor mérito aún es que la final se jugó el sábado pasado, el mismo día que Chile se jugaba la clasificación al mundial de fútbol frente a Venezuela. Y para estar ahí se debe ser profesional. No hay otra explicación.

Cosa rara. Nuevamente, como ha sucedido en casi todos los torneos que hemos informado, el campeón no fue el que se llevó el mejor premio, pues fue Daniel Sánchez quien se llevó el botín más valioso. ¿Por qué? Sucede que ambos finalistas (Pablo Marín y Sánchez) jugaban el mano a mano y eran alrededor de las 5:00 AM. El torneo parecía eterno y decidieron pactar el pozo.

En resumen, Sánchez se adjudicó poco más de $5.500.000 y Marín $4.000.000. Un trato sumamente ventajoso para el segundo, pues Sánchez casi lo triplicaba en fichas. Luego hubo lluvia de all in y Marín se quedó con el campeonato.

Felicitaciones a los ganadores y también a los organizadores de este gran torneo. Muchos jugadores me han comentado que la estructura de ciegas estuvo impecable, pues daba tiempo para jugar y estudiar a los rivales. Sinceramente, esperamos estar allá para el próximo desafío que se celebre.
