En las últimas semanas el nombre de Paul Volpe ha estado en la palestra por las continuas mesas finales que ha logrado en el circuito World Poker Tour.

Primero fue el segundo lugar del L.A. Classic donde consiguió 651.170 dólares, luego vino el tercer lugar del Bay 101 Superstar Shootout donde se embolsó 435.610$ para finalizar con el cuarto lugar del High Roller del EPT de Londres donde consiguió beneficios por £ 107.410, llegando a los 1.27 millones de dólares en lo que va del 2013.

Esto lo posiciona en el primer lugar del ranking GPI con 501.53 puntos, superando a Mike Watson con 501.20, Dan Shak con 429.59 que se encuentra en la tercera posición.

Recordemos que el Poker Global Index es un ranking que recopila el resultado final de torneos en vivo de los últimos 36 meses. Para calcular el puntaje se utiliza la fórmula de porcentaje de posiciones finales (Finishing Percentage Factor) más la combinación del costo de inscripción (Buy-in Factor). Esta medición es la misma para elegir al “GPI Player of the Year”, pero obviamente con un periodo de 12 meses.
